Where has the time gone?! I am starting to see my baby slowly transform into a little boy right before my eyes and I want time to stand still. Here are some things we noticed about Beckett this month:
- Beckett is a talker! This kid can hold a full conversation forever, although we usually can't make out what he is trying to say. Regardless, he must think it's important because he will just keep talking. Last night I was trying to put him down after not having seen him all night (I had a late council meeting) and he was attempting to give me a recap of his day. I do love our little chats though.
- Many times the sounds he makes when he's talking are very similar to those of Chewbacca from Star Wars. One of the girls that works in his room at school calls him "Chewy" on different occasions.
- He can consistently roll over to his tummy from his back, but is still trying to master rolling from his front to his back. We think he will be a stomach sleeper but we hesitate to put him on his stomach until he can turn over to his back. This is the first week we have decided to let him sleep minus his swaddle sack at night. He's starting to outgrow them and when he does wiggle around, he is flipping over to his stomach and getting stuck.
- Beckett continues to be the happiest baby. Even if you are a random stranger, he will flash you the biggest smile that makes you feel like you're the only person in the room that matters. I can only hope this positive personality stays with him as he continues to grow so I can continue to be blessed with two of the happiest, most loving boys.
- Beckett started belly laughing. Sometimes he laughs so hard, he gives himself the hiccups (Gray did this, too).
- A couple of weeks ago he discovered his feet. Every so often I catch him grabbing them and holding on.
- He has been sleeping about 9 hours at night, although the last couple of nights he has woken up around 4:30am crying. I think he may be ready to start solids. We didn't start Gray on solids until 6 months, but he was exclusively breastfed until then. Since Beckett has fully transitioned to formula the last month, he may be getting hungry at night. This means I need to get it together and assemble and paint the chair I bought for his high chair a month ago. :)
- He has fully transitioned to size 2 diapers.
- He eats about 5-6oz of formula 6 times a day but we may be moving to 5 times a day soon.
- He has outgrown all of his 3 month clothes (aside from some 3 month pants) and is wearing 6 month clothes.
- Weight: 14lbs, 1 oz (35th percentile)
- Height: 26 inches (85th percentile)
I took Beckett to his 4 month check-up on Monday and he looks healthy! According to his stats, he will be skinny and tall. In comparison to Gray, he weighs 2 less pounds and is an inch taller. It's crazy how different the boys have been.
We have a feeling he will be transitioning from his activity mat to his exersaucer this week. At 4 months they can get in the exersaucer at school and he was in one yesterday. Shane will get it down from the attic this week so I can wipe it down and try him in the one we have. He's a mover so if you put him on the floor and walk away, odds are he won't be in the same spot when you come back. We even have to watch him in his bouncer and roo because he likes to try and roll over in them. You can tell he is eager to start sitting up, too.
Life for us is constantly busy. I am attempting to manage multiple projects at work that include two dog parks, practice fields, replacing two playgrounds, resurfacing tennis courts and renovating a baseball complex. Not to mention fixing up the splash park and pool prior to them opening later this spring/early summer. Shane is busy with school and PSAT tutorials. He may hopefully have some opportunities to expand later this year and has possibly developed a neat program to assist kids in the college application process.
Grayson continues to amaze us each day. We are always so impressed with how helpful he is, especially when it's needed. There are times Shane and I may be alone with the boys and Gray can help provide an extra hand. He can go get a paci for Beckett or hand us a burp cloth. Sometimes he helps Beckett without us even asking.
Shane and I could not be happier with the family we have been given. Our boys are a daily reminder of how blessed we are!

Sittin like a boss!
I was in the kitchen rinsing Beckett's bottle and he started
crying. All of a sudden he stopped and I could see his paci in
his mouth. Gray had picked it up and put it in his mouth. He
then proceeded to hold it for him. Seriously, how cute is that?! :)
