Beckett on the other hand, stays pretty entertained. We brought the exersaucer down from the attic so he's been spending some time in it. Gray could barely reach the ground when we first put him in it at 4 months, but Beckett can reach with both feet already. Grayson loves to turn it on and show Beckett how to use all of the toys while he's in it. We had a few nights where Beckett was waking up at 4am so we thought he was ready for solids. I tried giving him some oatmeal a couple of nights while we ate dinner, but he didn't seem too thrilled. Gray didn't start solids until 6 months so I felt it was alittle early. We had also stopped swaddling Beckett about this time so we went back to swaddling in a larger sack and he has been sleeping better at night. We will probably hold off on solids alittle longer and try again around 5-5 1/2 months. He continues to have a happy demeanor and has started to show his happiness through sound. We regularly hear a high pitched squeal coming from him that we refer to as the "dolphin cry". Grayson was also famous for this sound about the same age.
Gray goes back to the ENT tomorrow for a follow-up. We feel that the outcome will most likely be a second set of tubes. After this last antibiotic he appeared to be getting better but we noticed this weekend he started showing the same signs of an ear infection as before. No matter what, we know Grayson will handle it really well and it will only help him. Our ENT has told us that between the ages of 2 1/2 to 3 is when the ears develop better drainage so our odds of getting a third set should diminish. If Grayson was closer to this age the ENT would even hold off on a second set of tubes, especially if it were the summer months when his chances of catching a cold are not as great. Although no mother looks forward to their baby undergoing any type of surgery, I know my little man is a trooper and he will do great.
We are hoping things will start to dry up soon but there is rain in the forecast all week, even some sleet is predicted on Thursday. Hopefully it will clear out soon and the weather will improve so we can start making more trips to the park.
His first snow experience. It didn't last long.
We were back inside within 5 minutes.
It was a wind chill of 22 that day and his little
face looked really cold.
We could not get him to walk or play
in the snow. He acts really weird when it comes
to things like that. The same thing happened
when we were in Belize and we tried to
get him to play in the sand. Hopefully he grows
out of it as another beach trip for this summer is in the works.
Catching snow on his tongue.
I bundled Beckett up and took him outside
for a minute.
Look how happy he is in maroon!
Gray listening to music on mommy's shuffle
Beckett enjoying his exersaucer
Beckett's first snow day! He's already
figured out the greatness of school being cancelled.
I finally painted Beckett's chair (and Gray's) so he
could sit in his high chair with us at the table.
Beckett enjoying some arts and crafts at school.
Aspen loves Beckett and Beckett feels the same
about Aspen. I need to get it on video, but Beckett
has the greatest laugh anytime Aspen is near him.
Milk coma before bedtime.
