State Fair

Last Thursday we took Grayson to the Texas State Fair for the first time.  My parents were able to join us which made it much easier to maneuver the grounds with an almost 1 year old.  I think Grayson had a great time!  Although I didn't get to partake in as many fried foods as I wanted, it is probably for the best.  We basically walked around, visited the petting zoo, looked at cars in case we decide to upgrade my car to an SUV in the future (mini-van people we are not), and took Grayson on a carousel for the first time.  We know he may not have understood everything this year, but next year will be much more fun!

the entire time we were in the petting zoo.
Waiting in line for the carousel.
This picture cracks me up.  I guess "crazy"
is genetic.

Gotta test out the latest John Deere's for grandpa!
On another note, please pray for my grandfather, Bob.  He has been in the hospital for over a week and we recently learned he is battling stomach cancer.  Due to his age (97 years) and current condition, treatment will not be an option.  We are left with making him as comfortable as possible so he can live out the rest of his days.  He has lived a full life and we know he is ready to enter those pearly gates and be reunited with his daughter, Donna.  Bob is an AMAZING man and there aren't enough hours in the day to tell all of his stories and adventures.  He has accomplished so much in his lifetime and our lives are all richer for knowing him.
