Fourth of July

Would you look at that.  It's been a month since I last posted anything (eek)!  I always have every intention to post something but never seem to be able to dedicate the time to do it.  Is anyone still following this blog?  Anyone?  I'm actually sitting at my desk right now, shoving food in my mouth and answering emails so this will be a brief posting.  (Don't worry, I will post Beckett's 9 month update in the next couple of days).

For Fourth of July weekend we loaded up the boys (including Aspen) and headed down to my parent's for a few days.  Luckily we pack light or it would have been hard to make room for Aspen in the back.  We took off first thing that Friday morning and got there early enough to have the entire day to enjoy ourselves.  Some of Gray's firsts while we were down there include fishing, seeing fireworks and holding sparklers.  I know he really enjoyed fishing with Anpa because he talked about it the entire week leading up to the trip and the entire weekend we were down there.  I think he liked the fireworks, but they scared him slightly.  One night we shot off our own fireworks and let Gray hold some sparklers.  The next night we went over to Uncle Jack's house (my dad's best friend) and they shot off fireworks from his dock.  The fireworks went off right over us so it may have been too close for Grayson.  Beckett had his head buried in Shane's shoulder the entire time.  Aspen enjoyed himself, too, and got to swim in the lake a couple of times.  One afternoon we let the boys swim in a pool on the patio and I looked up to find Aspen all the way down at the lake swimming around.  I guess he figured if they could go swimming, so could he!  All in all, we had a great time down there and I captured quite a bit of photos throughout the weekend.  Shane and I are in very little (I don't think I am even in one) but we figure it's more about capturing memories for the boys that we can look back on as they get older.

Beckett loved the bubbles, too

We took Grayson to Russell Stover's for a treat.

 First time fishing!

Nope, he didn't catch anything

 Sparklers!

 Wearing his "fishing shirt"
That's what he called it.  My dad
had the exact same shirt in long sleeves.

To make us all feel more comfortable on the dock,
we busted out the life jacket this time.

I love this photo of Gray and Aspen.

Our attempt to get a photo of the boys
together.  I swore I would never do matching
shirts, but these were cute and it was a holiday.

Love this photo of my little patriotic baby!

This boy is smitten for his Gee

He dragged this wagon everywhere.
His stance cracks me up.

Aspen was exhausted!
