11 Months

We are only a month away from having a toddler and preschooler in our home!  How is it possible that another year has already gone by and my babies are no longer going to be babies?!  Beckett is growing so fast and doing everything he can to keep up with his big brother.  Here are some things we noticed about him this month:

  • He started walking!  Each day he gets better at it but so far he's able to manage 4-5 steps at a time.  You can tell he's mastering his balance and should be full fledged walking by his first birthday.
  • Beckett is starting to be more independent when he plays.  More than anything he LOVES to play with Grayson.  The love he has for that kid is crazy.  After Gray goes to bed, or if Gray's napping, Beckett will go over to his toys and happily play while Shane and I watch.  It's a nice change from the non-stop activity we get with him most of the time.
  • He is eating more and more solids and less baby food.  We noticed he likes to feed himself more than anything so if we do give him baby food, we usually have to work it into his mouth between him shoveling food in.  Our plan is to make it through the last canisters of baby food we have and stick with table food.  The school transitioned him to their daily meals a couple of weeks ago and he's done great with it.
  • Over the last couple of weeks he started to make more sounds.  His primary word continues to be "Da Da" and I hear him say "Ma Ma" very little, if at all.  I know it will come one day.  Most of his sounds are babbles but you can tell he has some really interesting stuff he's trying to communicate with us.
  • He's down to three bottles a day.
  • His top two teeth popped out this month and one of the canines on top also made a small appearance.  He now has 5 teeth.
  • He is wearing mostly size 9 and 12 clothes and some size 6 shorts (he's so skinny).  I found another bin of Gray's clothes this past weekend and washed the warmer month items.  We had a nice cold front this past weekend that only last two days so it doesn't look like I need to get out any winter clothes just quite yet.
The last month was sort of a whirlwind, which most months seem to be.  It doesn't look like things will slow down anytime soon either.  We have something just about every weekend until the end of October so I bet we will be even more exhausted by the time the holidays come around.  I tried to take alot of photos this month so I will leave you with those.

While I was in Vermont I asked my friend that
works at KRK to take lots of pictures of my baby.
She didn't disappoint.

 Post school bath

 Bubbles!

Gray always goes by to check on his brother.

When school started back we rode the DART
down to the zoo to see their dinosaur exhibit they
have going on.  Gray loved it!

 Watching the penquins

 Cheetah

They have a neat river the kids can play in
so I packed his swim suit.  He loved
splashing around for alittle while.
(Thanks for the tip Court!)

 Dino dig

Riding a small train through the dinosaurs

Running from a dinosaur.
They were animatronics so he loved hearing them roar
and watching them move.

 Gray loves his trains.
Beckett loves destroying them.  :)
Gray calls him "Beck-o-saurus" when he goes on
a destructive path.

Aspen likes being around the boys

 Gray made us lunch

Beckett does so well on toys that almost
seem too big for him, but he jumps right on.

Gray needed another hair cut so I tracked
down a place in Frisco (since the last place butchered
his hair).  We love this place and the girl did a great job.
The car even has a pedal you can push so the wheels spin
and buttons to make sirens go off.
Obviously he chose the police car.

Becks hung out in Lightning McQueen for a minute

Finally! A cute haircut!

Gearing up for the first Aggie game of the season!

Could Beckett be giving me a more pissed
off look in this picture?!

Every now and then Beckett pushes Gray.

 And then Gray pushes Beckett.
I may have helped with this set up
but Beckett could not have been happier.

 Look at that smile!

You have to give the kid some credit for being creative.

The battery on the Mickey car died again
and you can only get them from the company.
We went to a new battery store by our house
and Shane figured out a way to rig up a regular
6V battery!  Gray could not be happier!
(Note: KidTraxx vehicle batteries suck)

He loves climbing on the Mickey car.

 And riding it with assistance.

Here is Beckett trying to ride it, while
Gray cleans it.

Walking at school

 Viking Beckett!

 Where's Beckett?

The dino tail is out and creating entertainment for all.

 Making noise with a bottle

 He has the best smile
(and laugh)

Becks while I make dinner
(video below)

For Shane's birthday we picked up donuts and took the
boys to Founders Plaza near DFW to watch the planes fly
in.  They had a breakfast picnic in the back of the car.

 Me and my baby boys!

Gray started to cheer for the planes

Gray wanted nothing to do with this photo.

Our annual Pooch Pool Party was last weekend
so naturally I took Aspen and Gray went for
the first time.  He was telling Aspen to get the ball.

 Now he's cheering for Aspen

Aspen loves swimming.  I had to limit his time
in the water since I knew he would be really sore
later in the day.

My latest project upstairs.  I wanted to add more of our
family photos and change up how they were displayed.
I plan to add another frame or two.

Here are a bunch of videos from this past month.

Beckett taking some of his first steps at school

Rocking on a toy at school

One day we said "Bye Bye" and he waved so I
went to get it on camera.  He surprised me by also
blowing kisses for the first time.

He's pretty good at playing catch.

Beckett pushing Gray around.  Towards the end
Gray stops to give Beckett a kiss on the head.

I had to stop making dinner to capture this moment
between the two of them.  Beckett thinks Gray is
the funniest person ever.

Music to my ears!
Despite his ugly attire.  ;)
